I’d arranged for a 121 to drop in to a couple of sites in the New Forest and to finish with sunset at Bournemouth Pier. On occasions the nicest light can be behind you and so it’s also worth keeping an eye on the eastern sky when you’re shooting a sunset. I liked the softer and more pastel coloured light in this direction and so I decided to switch to the other side of the pier and shot eastward with the sun behind me. I got down low to make the most of the soft ripples in the sand.
