Tree Bee (Bombus hypnorum)

The common english name of Bombus hypnorum is the Tree Bee, it’s a recent colonist to the UK from France and has been nicknamed ‘Le Bee’. The combination of ginger thorax and black and white halved abdomen are instantly recognisable. The first record in Britain was as recently as 2001 in nearby West Wellow in Hampshire.
