Old Harry Rocks

Reference: DO47
Location: Dorset
Gallery: Dorset,

This is an image of Old Harry taken from Ballard Down. The soft chalk cliffs here are in constant erosion, the sea punches a hole through any weak areas, this creates an arch and then an isolated stack which eventually falls into the sea just like Old Harry’s wife did in a storm in 1896. Here you see can Old Harry appearing from behind No Man’s Land. A long exposure of 160 seconds smoothed the sea and enhanced the motion in the clouds.
