Daybreak at Longslade Bottom

Reference: NF49
Location: Longlade Bottom, New Forest
Gallery: New Forest,

As I arrived at Longslade Bottom I could see that there was some mist in the distance although it was too far away and it quickly faded. I like the track here and at this time of year there is an attractive variety of colour - the lilacs of Ling (Common Heather), the brighter pinks of Bell Heather, the browns of fading heather and the greens of ferns.  This first image was taken just after sunrise although the light was heavily diffused as there was cloud at the horizon. The diffusing effect helped to create the lovely pastel tones.
