Late Spider Orchid

An Orchid I’ve really been looking forward to seeing. It’s the mixture of beauty and extreme rarity that is so appealing. The orchid is confined to a very small number of sites in Kent. We found directions on an online Orchid blog and after several wrong turns finally found the sheltered amphitheatre like valley with a dozen or so small cages protecting the orchids from grazing rabbits and livestock. Conditions were perfect with bright overcast light.
