This image was taken 30 minutes before sunrise and even using a graduated filter I had to underexpose significantly in order to avoid blowing the bright highlights developing at the south eastern horizon. In Lightroom I later set the highlights slider set to -100 and increased the overall exposure significantly. This brought out the previously unseen detail in the shadows and preserved the lovely colours in the sky.
