Old Harry Rocks
This first shot was taken 50 minutes before sunrise when it’s very difficult to see your composition and even harder for the camera to focus. With exposure simulation set in live view and with manual exposure I temporarily increase my aperture to f2.8 which significantly brightens the screen allowing you to compose properly and enabling the camera to focus. I then return the aperture to f11 or thereabouts before taking the image. The best colour is often well before sunrise and so planning to be setting up 45 minutes or so before sunrise often reaps benefits.
