The harbour gate is usually closed so the water in Padstow Harbour is often calm and reflective. This first shot was taken well before sunrise so the house lights were still on. Despite the lack of colour or early morning light sunrise is still a great time to photograph the harbour as there are so few people around. I accidentally dropped my Hoodman Loupe into the water and with it being a lower tide I could see it and I decided to try and retrieve it. I ended up sinking up to my knees in mud which it seemed hadn’t been disturbed in years as the smell of rotten eggs was eye watering!
