Rockford Common

Frost was forecast and so I headed into the New Forest. I arrived on location over an hour before sunrise as I wanted to give myself a bit of extra time in case I decided to switch to a different location. Conditions weren’t exactly as I’d planned and with a hint of cloud to the north I headed back to the car and made my way to Rockford Common, a viewpoint which looks due north. In addition the elevated viewpoint here would give me a wide view of the frosty valley, heather always looks good in frost and there was likely to be some subtle colour in the northern sky.
