Small Blue

The well named Small Blue is Britain’s smallest butterfly. Photographing small subjects means you need to dial in ever small apertures to get sufficient depth of field and the high magnification also makes camera shake a real issue. To achieve 1/100 sec (pushing my luck a bit) at f16 in the fading light I needed ISO 6400 yet the image cleaned up pretty well.
