Southern Damselfly

The very rare Southern Damselfly, the smallest of the blues. I shot into the light and because the terrain meant I couldn’t physically get parallel to the insect the abdomen and wings fell out of focus very quickly. I got around this by manually stacking 6 images focused at different points on the abdomen. A tiny aperture of f22 may have got most of the insect sharp but the background clutter would have become too much for my taste.
