Conditions at Portland Bill were very challenging with the wind from the west and fairly strong at around 20 mph. After several slaps on the back from sheets of sea spray I moved higher up although sea spray continued to be a problem given the wind direction and strength. The sky had been pretty clear of cloud all day but as the sun dropped it fell in towards a bank of cloud and there was a flush of colour. In the few minutes before the colour faded the oranges turned to cooler blues and pinks.
