Location: Whixhall Moss, Shropshire
On the way back from a previous trip north for Chequered Skipper we had dropped into Whixhall Moss in Shropshire to photograph White-faced Darter. Unfortunately we didn’t get any decent pictures. This time it seemed even less likely given the very cool conditions and that it was late in their flight period. I was lucky, however, and managed a half decent shot of this male White-faced Darter and also a brief flight view of Common Hawker a new species for me (very difficult to see in the south).
